Market Stress โ
Volatility, credit and rates say the same thing more often than people notice. This read says it as one number, with a direction, every day.

The Question It Answers โ
"Is the pressure on this market building or coming off?"
The inputs are public and free. What nobody assembles for a reader is the direction of all of them at once. A feed covers VIX on the day VIX moves, credit spreads on the day a credit story breaks, and the yield curve when someone writes about a recession. Three separate days, three separate topics, no combined answer.
Why A Composite Beats Three Headlines โ
- One number, every day, computed the same way. Comparable to yesterday and to last month, which is what makes a number worth following at all.
- The direction is the message. Stress at 42 and falling is a different market from stress at 42 and rising. The post says which.
- Stress leads the label. Rising stress is usually what precedes a regime downgrade, so it is the read that tells a reader to expect the bigger label to move.
- Regime changes get their own alert. When the stress regime itself turns, that is published as a separate event, not buried inside the daily number.
- The rule is public. The methodology names the inputs and the weights, so a reader can check whether they agree with the construction.
What The Post Looks Like โ
How It Is Built โ
A composite over volatility, high-yield credit, long rates and the yield curve, normalised so the number means the same thing across time rather than only against the last few sessions.

Two Ways To Use It โ
- Read it. The daily post runs on the TickerForge public channel; the card with the current index and its direction is in the bot.
- Publish it. Market Stress is available for partner pilots โ say so on the Market News page and we prioritise by what partners actually ask for.
Stress is context, not a signal. A high reading is not an instruction to sell and a low one is not permission to add risk. TickerForge is educational decision-support software, not financial advice.
